Principal's Welcome
Welcome to Boynewood State School
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Boynewood State School.
At Boynewood State School, we pride ourselves on being a small rural school where every child is known, valued and supported to achieve their personal best. We are committed to providing a safe, caring and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to grow academically, socially and emotionally. Our students' learning and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do.
Our dedicated staff work together to provide high-quality learning experiences that
challenge and support every student. Through strong relationships, high expectations and personalised learning, we strive to ensure that every child experiences success and develops a love of learning.
As a small school, we are able to provide individualised support and opportunities that help each student reach their full potential. Our multi-age classrooms foster leadership, collaboration, resilience and a strong sense of belonging. Students learn alongside and from one another, developing valuable skills that prepare them for future success.
Our current school improvement focus is English, with a strong emphasis on developing students' reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. We believe literacy is the foundation for success across all learning areas and are committed to helping every student become a confident communicator.
Alongside our focus on English, we are introducing the Learning Assets framework to develop students as effective learners and thinkers. Through Learning Assets, students build important dispositions such as curiosity, perseverance, collaboration, reflection and problem-solving. These skills help students become independent learners who are equipped to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.
Learning at Boynewood extends well beyond the classroom. Our students enjoy rich and authentic learning experiences that connect them to our rural community and environment. Through our growing orchard, vegetable gardens, sustainability initiatives and planned bee program, students develop an understanding of agriculture, environmental stewardship and healthy living. These projects provide meaningful opportunities for students to apply their learning in real-world contexts while developing responsibility and pride in their school.
We are also proud of the opportunities we provide for student leadership. Through Student Council and whole-school activities, students are encouraged to develop confidence, responsibility and a strong sense of service to others. Leadership is nurtured across all year levels, ensuring every student has opportunities to contribute positively to our school community.
Student wellbeing is equally important to us. We are fortunate to have a school chaplain who supports students, staff and families through classroom programs, individual support and community initiatives. Programs such as Little Laughs and Lattes help strengthen connections between families, young children, homeschool families and the wider community, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
At Boynewood State School, we value the strong partnership between school and home. We believe that when families and educators work together, students achieve the best possible outcomes. We encourage parents and carers to take an active role in their child's education and to become involved in the many opportunities our school community provides.
Our school motto, "Sow and Reap," reflects our belief that the effort, care and commitment we invest today will shape the successes of tomorrow. We encourage our students to work hard, embrace opportunities, support one another and take pride in the rewards that come from learning, growth and perseverance.
Whether you are considering enrolling your child or are already a valued member of our school community, we extend a warm welcome and look forward to partnering with you in your child's educational journey.
Kind regards,
Kylie Cramb
