Our History
Boynewood State School has been proudly serving the local community since 1915, when the school first opened with 18 students enrolled.
For more than a century, the school has provided quality education to children from the Boynewood district and surrounding rural properties. Generations of local families have attended the school, creating a rich tradition of community connection and support that continues today.
Situated approximately 12 kilometres south of Mundubbera on the Mundubbera-Durong Road, Boynewood State School has long been an important part of the local citrus, beef and agricultural community. The school has evolved over the years while maintaining its commitment to providing high-quality educational opportunities in a supportive rural setting.
Throughout its history, Boynewood State School has remained focused on meeting the needs of its students and community. While educational practices, technology and facilities have changed significantly over time, the school's dedication to nurturing and supporting every child has remained constant.
Today, Boynewood State School continues to offer a unique learning environment where students benefit from personalised learning, strong relationships and authentic rural experiences. Our small-school setting allows every student to be known, valued and supported throughout their educational journey.
The school motto, "Sow and Reap," reflects the values that have guided generations of Boynewood students. It represents the belief that effort, perseverance and positive actions lead to growth, success and opportunity.
As we look to the future, we remain proud of our heritage and committed to building on the strong foundations established by the families, staff and students who have shaped
Boynewood State School since 1915.
