Curriculum
At Boynewood State School, we teach and assess in alignment with the Australian Curriculum. The Australian Curriculum outlines the knowledge, understanding and skills that students are expected to develop from Prep to Year 6.
Students engage with learning across eight learning areas:
• English
• Mathematics
• Science
• Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS)
• Technologies (Design and Digital Technologies)
• The Arts (Music, Drama, Dance, Media Arts and Visual Arts)
• Health and Physical Education (HPE)
• Languages (Chinese - Years 3 to 6)
At Boynewood State School, specialist teachers deliver Music, Health and Physical Education, and Chinese programs.
As a small rural school, students learn in multi-age classrooms where learning is tailored to meet individual needs. This allows teachers to provide personalised learning experiences and ensure students are supported and challenged at their point of need.
We have a strong focus on improving Literacy and Numeracy and are committed to developing students as enthusiastic lifelong learners, effective communicators, critical thinkers, and confident, successful and resilient individuals.
Learning at Boynewood extends beyond the classroom through authentic rural and community-based experiences, leadership opportunities, sporting programs, camps, excursions, sustainability projects and agricultural learning initiatives.
The Australian Curriculum provides flexibility for teachers to personalise learning while maintaining high expectations for all students.
